![]() I wish that the TurboGrafx-16 versions were included as well because they provide a unique look and feel to the classics while sometimes actually being more fun to play. Oh, and the Game Gear releases are fun as you can see how small they made them for the console. Wonder Boy in Monster World for Master System is quite a spectacle as well. I particularly find the SG-1000 version of Wonder Boy hilarious as its scrolling is so hard on the eyes that it's basically unplayable. In my opinion, the best versions were released for arcade, Sega Genesis, and Master System (for The Dragon's Trap) but it is cool to experience the other ports for a nice glimpse into a time capsule. There are also region differences such as the Sega Mark III (Japanese Master System) and Sega Mega Drive. Whereas the original Wonder Boy Collection only included 1 version of each game (even if they're clearly the best versions), all 6 games here include multiple versions that originally released on consoles such as arcade, SG-1000, Master System, Game Gear, and Sega Genesis. □ Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap Review New versions □ ![]() It's a bonafide classic that may be a bit confusing at times but once you get in the groove, it's sure to provide hours of old-school entertainment where you can transform into a lizard, mouse, piranha, lion, and hawk. The other game is The Dragon's Trap which you'll probably know thanks to its flashy 2017 reskin. Did you read that right? Yes, and it's a ton of fun, especially via its simultaneous co-op multiplayer mode which makes the gameplay a frantic treat for 2. For starters, it trades 2D action platforming for an arcade-style auto-scrolling approach that's more in-line with a shoot 'em up. The first is subtitled Monster Lair and it's by far the most underrated entry in the entire franchise. Okay, so the 2 additional games in Wonder Boy Anniversary Collection are both called Wonder Boy III. It was missing some noteworthy games but they're back and ready for action in this newfangled Anniversary Collection! □ v1d30chumz 194-143-137-78 Wonder Boy Collection Review Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap should be familiar to most fans New games □ In short, it's a great compilation which features hours of old-school gameplay that'll delight existing fans as well as the retro-curious. I really don't want to repeat myself so please read my full review of the vanilla collection to learn more about it. However, add a word in the title and throw in a couple more games and you get Wonder Boy Anniversary Collection which includes everything that was in last year's offering and more.
